Until October 7, 2023, Tom and Ofir lived a relatively normal life with their three young sons. On that "Black Shabbat," Ofir's sister Hadar and her husband Itay were murdered by terrorists in their own home, leaving behind two babies. Tom and Ofir didn't hesitate to take in the twins, and overnight, their family of five grew to seven. In April, they managed to travel to Germany on a special flight for a much-needed respite—for the sake of their traumatized children. Thanks to the CSI Terror Victim Support Program, the family of seven was able to spend a few days recuperating in the Black Forest.
