Israel trips
Get to know and understand Israel better!
"All real life is encounter." This is what the Jewish religious philosopher Martin Buber once said. On our trips to Israel, the focus is on encounters of all kinds: We meet a wide variety of people, experience the cultural diversity and beauty of Israel, learn about impressive connections between history, present, and future, and delve deeper into the word and nature of God.
For us, a trip to Israel has always been successful when participants return strengthened in their personal faith and their relationship with Jesus. In fellowship with other Christians, we travel to fascinating places throughout the country and immerse ourselves in the extraordinary atmosphere of the Holy Land.

We say thank you
My name is Paula, I'm 27 years old, and the trip with JCSI opened my eyes to the incredibly long history of the wonderful places we were privileged to visit. And to the people there, who each had their own unique story to tell. The journey moved me deeply and made me reflect on our great God and his beloved people. It was no ordinary trip. Thank you to everyone who makes such experiences possible – you make a difference.
My name is Andreas and I am 24 years old. As a student teacher of Protestant religion, it had long been important to me to see the country I would later be teaching about before starting my teaching traineeship. Therefore, I am especially grateful for the support that made it financially possible for me, as a student, to participate in the JCSI trip.
Questions for us
Security has always been a top priority in Israel. Tourism is one of the country's most important sectors, and before the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, Israel welcomed three to four million visitors annually. Despite the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which has been in effect since October 2025, Israel is still formally at war. The security situation has recently eased noticeably. However, our trained tour guides know how to act prudently and professionally in exceptional situations, such as a rocket alert. They maintain constant contact with our partner travel agency on the ground, allowing the itinerary to be adjusted at short notice if necessary to avoid unsafe areas.
The Israeli government has announced that, starting January 1, 2025, prior electronic travel authorization through the "ETA-IL" system will be mandatory for entry into Israel. This electronic travel authorization must be applied for via an online portal of the Israeli government. The application fee is 25 NIS (approximately five to seven euros) and is payable by each traveler.
The relevant Israeli authorities recommend submitting the application at least 72 hours before departure. We will remind our participants of this in good time before their trip.
Furthermore, your passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of your trip.
Our trips usually begin at Frankfurt Airport (FFM). Should this not be the case, we will inform you in advance.
On our trips for young adults, you will mostly be accommodated in triple rooms. If, for example, married couples would like a double room, this is possible for an additional fee.
On our intergenerational trips, accommodation is generally in double rooms. Those who prefer a single room can obtain one for an additional fee.
No deposit is due upon confirmation of your registration by us. Our tour operator, Scuba-Reisen, will send the invoice approximately two months before the trip. At that time, a deposit of 10 percent, but no more than €250, per person is due and makes your registration legally binding. Scuba-Reisen's terms and conditions. The remaining balance is due upon receipt of your travel documents or no later than 14 days before departure. For bookings made at short notice, the full price of the trip is due immediately.
If your passport contains stamps from visits to countries such as Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Indonesia, Sudan, Yemen, or Kuwait, we recommend that you obtain a second passport. Stamps from countries such as Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, and other Arab states do not pose a problem for entry into Israel, but may lead to more thorough questioning. In Israel, you will not receive a stamp, but rather a visa on a slip of paper, which you should keep in your passport at all times during your stay.
We recommend that you take out travel health insurance before your trip. You can do this either privately or through our tour operator “Scuba-Reisen”.
Information on how to purchase travel insurance through our tour operator will follow after you register for one of our trips.
On our trips, we place great importance on incorporating a variety of activities such as hikes, visits to water parks, and other events. However, we are aware that some of these activities may not be suitable for people with limited mobility.
In addition, our travel planning occasionally includes journeys to challenging routes and difficult-to-access locations when we visit our local contacts during our encounter trips.
To ensure that every participant has the best possible experience, we ask that you contact us before registering for your trip. This way, we can discuss together under what circumstances you can participate in the trip despite any mobility limitations, or whether participation is not possible.
No special vaccinations are required for entry into Israel.
The traveler may withdraw from the travel contract at any time before the start of the trip. The traveler is advised to declare the withdrawal in writing. If the traveler withdraws from the travel contract, the following flat-rate cancellation fees are payable for each registered date:
- Up to 95 days before departure: €250
- 94 to 65 days before departure: 30% of the tour price
- 64 to 32 days before departure: 50% of the travel price
- 31 to 15 days before departure: 75% of the travel price
- 14 to 8 days before departure: 90% of the travel price
- From seven days before departure or in case of no-show: 100% of the travel price
